Meet the Geeks: Customer Marketing Team

Meet the Geeks is a series that introduces the geeks in the lab, welcome to the first part!
Who are the ASO geniuses who help our customers create successful campaigns?

Well, that’s Philippe, Jessica, Heli, and Emilio – our excellent Customer Marketing Managers!

What do CMM’s do?

We team up with game developers and marketers to make sure their games are a hit. Think of us as an extension of your team. Whether the games are just starting to develop or have been around for ages, we use A/B testing to figure out what works best. The test can be anything from testing themes or concepts to testing which screenshot set or icon works the best.

But that’s not all we do. We also specialize in conducting research, competitor analysis, and building the hypothesis, etc. It is important to lay the foundation of the test before you start testing and that we do well. After solid groundwork is done, that’s when we start setting up the campaign itself.

Plus, we’re all about data. We really dig deep into the results to see what’s popping and what’s not. We help with analyzing and presenting the data so that you can confidently make decisions based on it.

What’s the best part about your job?

Working with clients has to be the most rewarding part according to the entire team. Their ambition and dedication really rub off. Not only do we get to learn with clients, but we also get to put our personal skills to use quite broadly during our projects. It also helps to have such cool people on your team in addition to the people we work closely with. Our work days look different from day to day which also makes it fun. Each day brings a new challenge and getting to work with a wide range of different games has been very insightful.

What’s your best ASO tip?

Heli’s best tip is to “start with a well-defined research question and then plan the test structure and visuals to best answer it“. Furthermore, Jessica suggests to iteratively “test and experiment your games or apps (in any stage) to gain a deeper understanding of what works and what doesn’t, to ultimately increase your app growth“. Philippe reminds not to expect crazy differences in results in just one test but that a “huge impact can come from many small improvements over time“. Emilio’s final tip is to “always analyze the data from past experiments to inform future strategies, ensuring a cycle of constant improvement“.
