Welcome to our guide about how to set up a Facebook pixel on your Geeklab campaign. Setting up the pixel is an important step to optimize the campaign and to utilize the landing page view. Users will see a redirecting page for a second before redirected to the final destination you’ve picked when creating the campaign. When on this page, the pixel will be introduced firing back the landing page event to Facebook. This allows you to optimize your campaigns towards people who click install. Let’s dive right in.
Facebook Business Manager
The pixel setup starts on the Business Manager where you navigate to the “settings tab”. On the next “settings” tab, select “pixel” from “data sources” to access the pixel setup view. From this view, you are able to create a new pixel by clicking the “add” button next to the search bar. The add button will open a window that allows you to name the pixel however you want.
As the pixel is now set up, you are able to connect it to a business account by accessing the pixel. Note that you might also need to manage the rights of people who have access to the pixel and that can be done by searching for the people in the search bar.
The ID is a number series of numbers that you will add in the Geeklab campaign’s “attributes” tab later.
Note: Facebook automatically sets the status of the pixel as inactive. This is until the pixel is attached to an active campaign with traffic coming in. No need to be alarmed by this message when setting thing up.
Geeklab
Once you have set up the pixel, head over to Geeklab to create the campaign. Whether the campaign already exits or you are starting from scratch, attach the pixel from the “attributes” tab. First you need to create the pixel by clicking “New pixel”. Later on, you will be able to select it from the dropdown menu. The dropdown menu shows all the pixels you have set up on your company’s account.
Testing that the pixel works
By downloading the Meta Pixel Chrome extension you are able to test that the pixel works. To make it work you install the plugin, open the preview of the Geeklab product page, click the install button and take a close look at the plugin. If the pixel fires up, then it is working properly.
In conclusion, first create the pixel on Meta Business Suite. Then, set up your Facebook Ads campaign, adding the pixel there as well. Lastly, create the Geeklab campaign adding the pixel there as well. Whether you create the ad campaign or Geeklab campaign first, the order doesn’t matter.
